Payconiq is a mobile payment service used for paying back your friends, paying in a store or online. Born from the ING innovation lab and first introduced in the Belgian market, Payconiq is now in 2018 available also in Germany and The Netherlands. I joined Payconiq team in the summer of 2017 as mobile iOS engineer and spent there almost a year.
In the first phase of the assignment, I worked in a team configuration where I and the rest were responsible for the whole iOS app. I joined the team in the middle of a big security update, where the encryption layer of the app was being updated to be more secure and to lay the foundation of subsequent protocols updates. At the same time, I developed a couple of iOS apps, for Payconiq internal use, that were used to test Payconiq iOS online payment feature and to test onboarding flows involving 3rd party banking apps.
In the second phase, I was assigned to a smaller team where I was responsbile for the implementation of a totally renewed payment flow. The phase involved design meetings, refining sessions, back and forth discussions with graphics and interaction designers, coding and testing. The assignment ended right after the new update was released to the App Store.
