I joined PVH as mobile iOS developer in the summer of 2013. PVH is one the biggest apparel company in the world, owning brands like Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein among the most famous.
I worked in a small team of 2-3 developers whose responsibilities were to design, code and maintain enterprise iOS applications, so apps which are not available in the App Store. During the course of 2.5 years I worked on several iPad, iPhone and Watch apps: a catalog app for iPad used worldwide by all PVH sales teams to present and sell the current collection to wholesale customers, a digital content app used by the marketing departments to learn and promote the brands, an employee app offering office services to all PVH employees, an app used to promote both in and out the company, the venue hosting PVH canteen and events through all the year.
While developing these apps at PVH, we made use of many new technologies like CocoaPods, Reactive Programming and NoSQL databases to name few. For some of them we also developed ad-hoc REST API using Node.js or .NET.
Dealing with enterprise apps, we were deeply involved in their distribution to all employees devices using an internal Mobile Device Management system. We were responsible for maintaining the brands developers certificates and profiles, and to guarantee a smooth distribution for us and for all our users.
In addition to this, I was personally and regularly mentoring interns assigned to our team. Besides being a very rewarding experience for myself, we could experiment with any kind of new technologies being released at that time, like iBeacon or tvOS.
